How to get to the Mathematical Institute

Adress: Mathematisches Institut, Bunsenstraße 3-5,   37073 Göttingen


The Mathematical Institute (MI) is located in the southern area of Göttingen. You can get there as follows.

By train to Göttingen main station (Göttingen Hbf):   Search for a train connection here.

By foot from Göttingen main station (about 15-20 minutes):

Leave the station in the direction of "Zentrum" (Centre). Turn right and follow the road ("Berliner Straße"). Cross the next big junction and follow the road further ahead ("Bürgerstraße"). The fourth street to the right is the Bunsenstraße, the MI building is the corner building on the left-hand side.

By bus from Göttingen main station:   Search for a bus connection here.

Leave the station in the direction of "Zentrum" (Centre), the bus terminal (ZOB) is located to your right.

Start: Göttingen Bahnhof/ZOB
Destination: Göttingen Bunsenstraße

By car:  By car, the Mathematical Institute can be reached via the A7 motorway. You leave the motorway at exit no. 73 Göttingen/Dransfeld (not Göttingen Nord!) towards the Centre (Zentrum). Staying at the right lane, after 3km (ca. 1.8 miles) you will cross the Leine river and you will go through a railway underpass. Then turn right into the Börgerstraße. To reach the Mathematical Institute you turn right at the fourth street (Bunsenstraße). The MI building is the corner building on the left-hand side.
